Do You Really Need a Case for Your iPhone?

One of my biggest pet peeves and frankly, one of the stupidest things to do with your smartphone in my not so humble opinion is to put a case on it.  Seriously, you really think a case adds any value or protection to your iPhone?

Sure, the iPhone 4/4S can have it’s glass front display or back cover shatter if you drop it on a hard surface, such as concrete or tile.  So then though can a Samsung Galaxy, Motorola Razr, HTC One or any other myriad of smartphones.  Smartphones have large, glass LED displays.  They can break if dropped.  A case or a screen protector is not going to prevent that from happening.  Even worse than a case is how they try to justify that you should put a screen protector on your display.  The gorilla glass on smartphones will NOT scratch.  There have been countless tests to prove this out.  Screen protectors on the other hand scratch easily.

Apple introduced the world to its’ latest engineering marvel, the iPhone 5.  This is the thinnest, lightest and most beautifully engineered smartphone, ever!  Many reviewers have called it the “Rolex” in a sea of Timex watches.  It is indeed a beautiful sight and feels incredible in the hand.  The glass back on the iPhone 4/4S has been replaced with a lighter and more resilient anodized aluminium back.  It looks fantastic and provides an even higher level of protection.  There are already videos on YouTube going around testing the iPhone 5.  I really don’t understand why anyone would change the overall look and feel of this amazing device with a case.
