Why is change so difficult for some people?

Change…  we are living in a world where change is happening every day.  Change affects our daily lives.  In the way we work, play and relax.  Every day, something new is introduced that results in some form of change.

You would think that people that work in the Information Technology field would adapt to or rather, embrace change given that they are on the front lines of one of the major factors of change that exists.  It would seem though that assumption is clearly not the case.  I have experienced many individuals that work in the technology field that are supposed to be ‘change agents’ yet they themselves do not like to deal the unknown.

The butterfly transforms itself from a lowly larva to its’ beautiful end stage by understanding that this change is necessary in order to achieve the next phase of its’ life.  It recognizes the environmental changes around it and when it is time to take that leap of faith to the next stage.

In order to thrive in this new world, we as individuals are going to be faced with many aspects of change.  Accepting or better yet, managing this change will only position us to be better equipped and able to advance forward.
