Google TV Comes to a Halt

The New York Times has reported that Google has asked its’ list of manufacturers to hold on introducing any products based on Google TV for this January’s Consumer Electronics Show.

Google has stated that they want to refine their software which has been receiving less than favourable reviews and has had a lukewarm response from consumers.  Logitech has halted production of its’ Revue product line pending updates from Google and Sony had previously dramatically reduced the pricing of its’ product based on consumer feedback.

Meanwhile Apple has stormed ahead with its’ Apple TV reporting that over one million units have been sold in the past quarter.  While this is not to the same quantities as the iPad and iPhone, it does indicate that this device is making its’ way into homes.  The Apple TV did make it on the top ten list of best devices for 2010 as published by Time.
