JetBlue to join oneworld alliance?

American Airlines and JetBlue recently announced a joint marketing agreement between the two airlines.  The extent of this partnership includes interlining on ‘non-overlapping’ routes and providing joint frequent flyer benefits.

One topic that was broached and neither confirmed nor denied was whether JetBlue would be joining the oneworld alliance.  Both CEO’s indicated that this may be a logical conclusion as both companies are “open to the path forward, whatever that may be” as stated by JetBlue Chief Dave Barger.  AA CEO Gerard Arpey further states, “JetBlue possesses the traits oneworld seeks for its’ member carriers. We’ll see where things lead.”
